The signed treaty between the Republic of South Ossetia and the Russian Federation which allegedly “does violence to sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia and is not legally binding” was condemned by the Council of Europe Deputy Ministers Committee within discussion of the agenda “The Council of Europe and the Georgian conflict” on May 12, 2015.

May, 5 saw a meeting of German and Georgian Foreign Ministers, when Frank-Walter Steinmaier spoke once again in support of “territorial integrity of Georgia” and declared non-recognition of the Treaty on Alliance and Integration signed between South Ossetia and the Russian Federation. The fact that Germany is supporting Georgia isn't new. The preconceived opinion on the treaty that isn't directed against third countries and according to the contents is aimed to solve a range of social and economic problems as well as security issues causes bewilderment.

Diplomatic missions of Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics of in the Republic of South Ossetia were officially opened today. Natalya Horsheva, the Chief of Administration of LPR Head, was heading the delegation of the Republic. The delegation of DPR was headed by Alexander Coffman, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kosta Pukhaev, the First Deputy Head of RSO President Administration, Alan Kochiev, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rodion Siukaev, the State Councilor of the President on social problems, participated in the ceremony on South Ossetian side.

Daniel Tibilov, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Republic of Nicaragua met in Managua with Samuel Santos Lopez, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, on April 23, 2015.

Copies of credentials were delivered to the Minister during the meeting.

Exchange of opinions on current terms of bilateral relations and international agenda took place during the conversation which was conducted in an atmosphere of mutual respect and understanding.

President Tibilov hosted a Nauruan delegation headed by David Adeang, the Vice President the Republic, on April, 22. The Vice-speaker of the Parliament Akua Renin, the Deputy Minister of Finance Hunt Martin and MP Buramen Cyril were members of the delegation. Konstantin Kochiev, State Councilor of the President, Kazbulat Tskhovrebov, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Igor Kochiev, the Parliamental Committee on Foreign Policy and Inter-Parliament Communications Chairman, participated in the meeting on South Ossetian side.

April, 21 has seen opening of a photo exhibition “South Ossetia: the Country and People” prepared by Italian photographer Leonardo Mattioli. The exhibition was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the RSO together with Italy - South Ossetia Friendship Society, with assistance of the Ministry of Culture of the RSO in cinema and concert hall “Chermen”.

A delegation from Italy headed by Professor Mauro Murgia, the President of Italy - South Ossetia Friendship Society is on an official visit to the Republic these days.

A photo exhibition “South Ossetia: the Country and People” prepared by Italian photographer Leonardo Mattioli and organized by Professor Mauro Murgia with the assistance of South Ossetian Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Culture will be opened on April, 21 in cinema and concert hall “Chermen”.

The opening ceremony will start at 11:00.

Daniel Tibilov, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, is on an official visit to Venezuela.

Delsey Rodriguez, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, hosted a meeting with the Ambassador on April, 15 in Caracas. During the meeting His Excellency delivered copies of credentials to the Minister.

Bilateral cooperation and various terms of further development of relations between the two states were discussed.

Diplomatic Mission of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Lugansk People’s Republic was opened on April 16, 2015.

Igor Plotnitsky, the Head of the LPR, host a meeting with representatives of the RSO after the opening ceremony. The parties expressed confidence that the work of the Mission would strengthen friendly ties between South Ossetia and Lugansk and help in developing bilateral relations in humanitarian, economic and other spheres.

Diplomatic Mission of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Donetsk People’s Republic started its work in Donetsk on April, 16.

At the official opening ceremony the DPR public representatives expressed confidence that the established Mission would promote developing relations between Donbass and the Republic of South Ossetia in humanitarian, economic and other spheres.

Similar office is supposed to be opened in the capital of South Ossetia in short term.

As Giorgi Margvelashvili stated in his annual report to the Parliament made on March, 31, the main objectives for Georgia are unity and integrity of the state. For this reason “Abkhazia and South Ossetia should obligatory be deokkupated”. Alongside with this Georgian leader considered valuable to show care of “the Abkhazian and the Ossetian identity preservation, political and cultural rights of the people exercising that can be guaranteed by the European Georgia”.
