December 18 saw negotiations between Anatolii Bibilov, the President of the Republic of South Ossetia, and Leonid Pasechnik, Head of the Lugansk People's Republic, who arrived in Tskhinval on an official visit.
The meeting continued in an extended format.
Petr Gassiev, the Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of South Ossetia, Erik Pukhaev, the Prime Minister of the Republic of South Ossetia, Dmitrii Medoev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, Denis Miroshnichenko , the Chairman of the People's Council of the Lugansk People's Republic, Vladislav Deinego, the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lugansk People's Republic, Vladimir Chernev, Adviser to the Head of the Lugansk People's Republic, and other officials participated in the meeting.
The parties discussed terms of further development and strengthening of friendly interstate ties and exchanged opinion on the running international agenda.
Under the Decree of Leonid Pasechnik, Head of the Lugansk People's Republic, Anatolii Bibilov was awarded with the Order of Friendship for special merits in strengthening peace, friendship and cooperation with the Lugansk People's Republic and for the significant personal contribution to the development of cooperation in spheres of economy, culture, science and technology.
Following the results of the official negotiations the Presidents of the Republics made a statement for media.
