Congratulation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia D. N. Medoev with the 13th anniversary of recognition of the state independence of the Republic of South Ossetia by Russian Federation

On the eve of the Day of recognition of the state independence of the Republic of South Ossetia by the Russian Federation, the Minister of foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Dmitrii Medoev congratulated the employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and veterans of the diplomatic service on the holiday.

The congratulation says:

“I congratulate all employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, veterans of the diplomatic service on Victory Day!

The recognition by the Russian Federation of the state independence of South Ossetia marked the end of the long-term stage of the struggle of our people for freedom and independence, the restoration of the statehood of Alania.

Ossetia will always be grateful for this historic decision to the leadership of Russia, to all the people of the fraternal country for the support people of South Ossetia received in the difficult days of August 2008. These were difficult decisions that required political courage, comprehensive analysis, and balance. As President Putin rightly noted, these were difficult, but the only correct decisions, which are irrevocable.

We bow our heads to the memory of the fallen and look to the future with confidence. Our aim is to unite all efforts to build a sovereign, socially oriented state in close alliance with Russia.

The current state of bilateral South Ossetian-Russian relations is in positive dynamics. There can be no other – this is an obligation, including the centuries-old common history, and the new political realities that have developed since 2008, as well as the mutual obligations of the parties. South Ossetia will never deviate from the chosen path! State independence of South Ossetia is an irreversible reality! Happy holiday, dear friends!”
