On August 25, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev hosted a meeting with a delegation from the Republic of Nicaragua, headed by Denis Moncada Colindres, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Nicaragua, who arrived in Tskhinval to participate in the celebrations, dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the recognition of the independence of the Republic of South Ossetia by the Russian Federation.
The meeting was also attended by the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Andrey Tskhovrebov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Ossetia to the Republic of Nicaragua Narim Kozaev and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Nicaragua to the Republic of South Ossetia Alba Azucena Torres Mejía.

During the conversation, the Foreign Ministers noted the traditionally friendly nature of South Ossetian-Nicaraguan relations, exchanged views on global and regional security, taking into account the current international situation, and noted with satisfaction the proximity of the approaches of South Ossetia and Nicaragua to the main problems of our time.
The sides confirmed their mutual interest in further deepening the political dialogue and strengthening cooperation for the benefit of the peoples of the two states.
The conversation took place in a frank friendly atmosphere.
