On August 25, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev hosted a meeting with the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Republic of Turkey Hosity Burhan and the Representative of the National Cultural Society of Ossetians of Turkey "Alan" Kusaty Hayri, who arrived in South Ossetia to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the recognition of the state independence of the Republic of South Ossetia by the Russian Federation.
The meeting was also attended by the Head of the State Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs O.F.Kadzhaeva.
Akhsar Dzhioev emphasized that strengthening contacts with Ossetian diasporas and, in particular, with Ossetians living in Turkey is important for South Ossetia. The head of the South Ossetian diplomatic authority noted the high level of cultural and educational outreach being made by the diaspora in Turkey aimed at preserving the native language and traditions, as well as strengthening ties with South Ossetia.
Hosity Burhan congratulated the Minister on the holiday, noting that he was glad to share this significant day with his people, and also spoke about the work done with the Ossetian diaspora in Turkey and upcoming plans.
