On March 15, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Ossetia to the Republic of Abkhazia Oleg Botsiev participated in a flower-laying ceremony held in the Sukhum Park of Glory in commemoration of the soldiers, who fell in the March 1993 offensive operation.
The March offensive operation is one of the bloodiest operations in the history of the 1992-1993 Patriotic War of Abkhazia, which costed lives of 222 people, among whom there were volunteers from South Ossetia.
The Abkhaz President Aslan Bzhania, Prime Minister Alexander Ankvab, Speaker of the Parliament Lasha Ashuba, Secretary of the Security Council Sergey Shamba, veterans of the war participated in the commemorative event.
